Sylvia Garrett enthusiastically serves the community as president and CEO of the Sylvia A. Garrett Agency, LLC an independent insurance and financial services Agency. The mission of the company is to provide exceptional customer service, empower our team and our community, and protect families and businesses.

The established agency has over 100 years of combined insurance experience and is staffed with seven licensed agents. We provide service in 11 states.

Sylvia and her team have been recognized as “champions”, being one of the top 5% producers for Nationwide for 2011, 2013, 2014, and 2015. In 2015, the agency was one of the top 10 Annuity producers for Nationwide. Finally, the agency is a qualifier for the Million Dollar Round Table, 2015 and 2016. She is also one of the Women of Economic and Leadership Development (WELD) “Women You Should Know” in 2015. She and her team are one of the Smart50 Business Honorees.

Sylvia has been an entrepreneur for over 30 years. Prior to Nationwide, Sylvia co-founded (with her husband, Dale Kent Garrett) the Nadarbis Group, Inc., a business and management consulting firm. The word “Nadarbis”—meaning “strength-in-unity”—describes the firm’s collaborative team approach to meet the organizational needs of clients. Nadarbis has provided management, educational and organizational development services to corporations, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and governmental agencies. As Nadarbis Group’s CEO, Sylvia was in the first central Ohio class of “Forty under 40” honorees. She was also a Columbus Dispatch “Blue Chip” awardee. It was ranked by Business First as one of Columbus’s top management consulting firms for several years.

Sylvia has served as an adjunct faculty member of the University of Phoenix. She is the co-founder of the Success Learning, Leadership & Life-Skills Program (Success L3), a holistic summer educational experience for Columbus youths, particularly youths from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Sylvia is a member of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc., Columbus Alumnae, a public service sorority. She is also a member of WELD and NAWBO. She serves as a Board member for CATCO and D’Light House Family Center, Inc.

Sylvia and her husband, Kent, have been married for 30 years and they have four young adult daughters. Sylvia is a member of the Family Fellowship Church of Christ. She enjoys giving back to the community, spending quality time with family and friends, and travel adventures.
